Joe '12 and Leisha '13 (Edwards) Bartolo
After SSCA, Joe Bartolo ('12) attended Word of Life Bible Institute for one year and then Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston for five years. He graduated from Wentworth in 2018 with a major in electrical mechanical engineering and a minor in applied mathematics. Today he works as a quality engineer for Uppababy. He is also active in his church, serving in the sound booth and helping with other technology needs.
Leisha Bartolo (Edwards) also attended SSCA, graduating in 2013. After SSCA she too attended Word of Life Bible Institute and completed their two-year program. Afterward she went on to serve as a missionary intern with Word of Life in Europe. She lived in Portugal for two months and then moved to Romania where she lived for roughly a year and a half. She returned to the United States in 2018. While serving overseas, she also pursued her undergrad online through Clarks Summit University. She graduated in 2019 with her degree in Integrated Studies. She will be graduating from Liberty University with her Master’s in Teaching English as a Second Language in December of 2021.
On May 21, 2021, Joe and Leisha got married at Bittersweet Farm in Westport, MA. They were not close in high school, but had mutual friends throughout the years since SSCA. Joe took an interest in Leisha after seeing her in January of 2020. The rest is history! Joe and Leisha currently live in Rockland, MA. They enjoy spending time outdoors, hanging out with friends and family, and a good game of Settlers of Catan.
They are thankful for the effort the teachers put into teaching at SSCA. Over the years they have seen how the many things they learned as high school students were very valuable to them both academically and in life. Whether it was in writing papers, learning other languages or understanding teamwork, the skills they learned have set them up for success as they have pursued what God has had for their futures.
