SSCA requires student drivers to have parking permits. All students must park in the east portion of the parking lot. They may not park in the faculty/staff lot. They may not park in spaces designated for visitors or those marked as “Reserved.” The campus speed limit is 5 mph; reckless driving will result in the loss of driving privileges.
Students must comply with all applicable laws concerning the safe operation of the vehicle. No student may transport another student at any time without prior permission from the parents/guardians of the driver and the parents/guardians of the rider. Such permission is the sole responsibility of the families involved. The school does not and will not monitor such activity. No Lower-School student may be transported by an Upper School student, unless that student has been given express permission by the parent/guardian of the Lower School student. Express permission is given by the completion of the Authorization Form allowing Upper School students to pick-up Lower School students. This form is available at the Main Office.
Sitting in student vehicles during the school day is not permitted. Whether students are in the parking lot, in a car in the parking lot, or in the school building, students are held to the same standard of behavior and will be disciplined for breaking the code of conduct accordingly.
SSCA has the right to refuse driving privileges to any student who has an irresponsible driving record. Driving privileges may also be suspended if a student is routinely late to school.
