Athletics at SSCA

Our athletics programs help to equip our student athletes with the necessary skills for a lifetime of healthy fitness and self-esteem as part of our mission to develop a strong Christian character, within the framework of competition and teamwork. Our Lower School athletic program helps to develop skill and character through Physical Education and clinic-based sports opportunities, while our Upper School athletic program offers great opportunities for students to be part of seasonal teams.

All high school sports teams, besides our basketball teams, compete in the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) Division 5 or 6. As a member of the MIAA, our teams have qualified for the highly competitive Massachusetts State Tournament for their respective sports and have faced some of the top teams throughout the state. SSCA competes as an independent school without a league affiliation. This status allows the school to schedule games against other Christian schools and charter schools as well as against private and public schools throughout Central and Eastern Massachusetts and Cape Cod and the Islands.

Our basketball teams operate as total independents with a goal to compete at a national level. Establishing these independent teams makes SSCA one step closer to achieving our goal, which is for all SSCA sports teams to compete at a national level.

Student athletes are expected to maintain high academic standards while participating in a sport and are always required to be strong representatives of the school.
