Introducing SSCA's New Principal: Mr. William B. Carter, Jr

Last year SSCA initiated a search for a Principal, a senior level administrator, reporting to the Head of School, who can give the necessary day-to-day leadership and oversight to our academic operations, as well as direct much of the student life and culture of the school.  As the chief articulator of the daily academic and student life of the school, the Principal plays a key role in SSCA’s continuing commitment to expand upon the educational experience of our students from Pre-K through Grade 12.

Thus, we are pleased to announce that the search process has concluded and that Mr. William B. Carter, Jr. will be joining the SSCA team on July 1, 2018 as our school Principal. His education, years of experience in school leadership, including faculty coaching and supervision, curriculum development, and student life/discipline, along with his passionate faith in Christ and commitment to Christian education positions him well for this role.

There will be opportunities for the entire SSCA community to get to know Mr. Carter. But a couple of quick highlights:

  • Education: B.S. in Psychology (Northeastern University); M.Ed. in Secondary Education (Salem State); Ed.D. Candidate in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies (Boston University;Expected Completion, May 2019)
  • Overall Experience: 18 years of experience in secondary education; 12 years in Christian Education
  • Teaching Experience: Middle School and High School Mathematics (18yrs), Middle School Bible (3yrs)

Administration Experience: Principal Fellow (Roxbury Prep Charter School, Uncommon Schools); Director of Student Support, School Counselor (Boston Trinity Academy); Dean of Students, Math Department Head (Epiphany School)

The hiring of Mr. Carter is part of our continued commitment to further establish ourselves as one of the premier Christian schools in MA, and the preferred independent school choice for Christian families from Southeastern MA, Boston Metro, and parts of the Metro Southwest.
