AmazonSmile Setup Instructions for SSCA

What is AmazonSmile?

The AmazonSmile Foundation is a 501(c)(3) private foundation created by Amazon to run the AmazonSmile Program. AmazonSmile (smile.amazon.com) is a website operated by Amazon that lets customers enjoy the same wide selection of products, low prices and convenient shopping features as on Amazon.com, with the added bonus of earning proceeds for charity. AmazonSmile Foundation will donate 0.5% of the purchase price of eligible AmazonSmile purchases to the charity selected by its customers.

 

HOW TO SET UP AMAZON SMILE ON YOUR COMPUTER AND YOUR PHONE

 

Step 1: Computer Set Up

  1. Visit https://smile.amazon.com/
  2. Login to your existing Amazon account.
  3. Type in "South Shore Christian Academy" in the search bar and click "search".
  4. Then, click "select" next to "South Shore Christian Academy" in Weymouth, MA.
  5. Check the box that says "Yes, I understand that I must always start at smile.amazon.com to support South Shore Christian Academy" and then click "Start Shopping"
Now, you are all set to start shopping! Qualified orders placed through http://smile.amazon.com will result in a donation of 0.5% of the total purchase to South Shore Christian Academy. You will be able to see the $ amount your purchases contributed, as well as the total $ amount contributed in the “Your Amazon Smile” menu.
 
 

Step 2: Phone App Set Up

Note: if you have multiple phones, you have to repeat this set up in each of them
 
  1. Open the Amazon Shopping App in your phone and login to your Amazon account.
  2. Click on main menu button
    1. Android: located in the top left corner (the icon looks like three horizontal lines)
    2. iPhone: located on the bottom right corner (the icon looks like three horizontal lines)
  3. Scroll down and click on “Settings”
  4. Click on “AmazonSmile”
  5. Verify the name "South Shore Christian Academy" in Weymouth, MA appears on the top.
    1. If it doesn’t, go back to Step 1 above and fix it.
    2. If it does, click the button “Turn on AmazonSmile”, and follow the instructions.

After your phone app is set up, qualified orders placed through this app will result in a donation of 0.5% of the total purchase to South Shore Christian Academy. Much like in your computer, you will be able to see the $ amount your purchases contributed, as well as the total $ amount contributed in the “Your Amazon Smile” menu. On Android phones, you will also see how the icon “Amazon Prime” on the top of the screen now reads “Amazon Smile”.
