We are excited to celebrate SSCA's Class of 2024 at Commencement! Please read below for details and FAQs to prepare for this celebratory ceremony.

FAQs
 
We are not setting a guest limit per graduate; however, we kindly ask that no family exceeds 20 guests in an effort to not run out of seating. Please note that if any family exceeds 20 guests, these guests will be seated in the overflow seating rows.
No. You do not need to purchase tickets or register to attend this event. Please email contact our Dean of Students, Dimitri Kamberidis, at [email protected] to let him know how many guest you are bringing.
Every graduating student will have a reserved row for their family members and guests. 
Graduates are required to attend our mandatory rehearsal on Friday, June 7 at 11am (right after Last Chapel). Graduates will receive their caps and gowns at rehearsal and should bring their yearbooks for signing. 
Male graduates are expected to wear khaki/dress pants with a polo or dress shirt. Female graduates are expected to wear khaki/dress pants with a nice shirt, a nice dress, or a skirt and nice shirt. All graduates should wear dress shoes of some kind -- NO sneakers please! Please note that female graduates are encouraged to wear flats or wedges since thin heels will sink through the soft grass. 
All graduates must arrive for Commencement on June 8 by 9:00am to line up for procession. Graduates are to enter through door 11 to congregate in the gym.
Guests can arrive at the field no earlier than 9:20am.
Cars must enter through the front driveway and wrap around to the side parking lot. Please follow all directions given by the parking attendant(s). No cars are permitted to enter the back entrance.
Water bottles will be provided but we do suggest bringing extra water. We also suggest applying sunscreen before arriving and continuing to apply sunscreen throughout the Commencement activities.
Restrooms will be available inside. Guests are to enter through door 11 and use the bathrooms near the gym. They should exit back through door 11. There will also be porta potties available on the premises for those who need wheelchair access or are unable to enter the building. 
You may take photos during the ceremony and are encouraged to take more photos once the ceremony is over. Please also note that various photographers will be on site taking professional photos of the graduates. These photos will be made available as soon as possible following Commencement.
Caps and gowns will be distributed at rehearsal on Friday, June 7. Caps and gown have been purchased and paid for using your Commencement fee. The caps and gowns are yours to keep! The gowns must be hung up at least one night prior to Commencement. The gowns cannot be ironed but can be steamed.
Yes, Commencement will be live-streamed. A link of this livestream will be sent out in an email before Commencement begins. This recording will also be available on SSCA's YouTube page after Commencement is over.
