Financial Aid Forms

This is a reminder that Financial Aid information is due this Friday, March 12th.

The Spring Fundraiser is HERE!!!

The Spring Fundraiser begins this week and will run thru March 19th, featuring food products from Joe Corbi's. Please look for packets to be sent home this week with your child(ren). Progress Reports/Parent/Teacher Conferences

Just a reminder that the third term is closing March 18th and progress reports will be sent out electronically on March 22nd, and will be posted to Edline. Parents may choose to make a conference with their child's teacher(s) on the following dates.

  • Wednesday, March 24- Lower School ONLY, 1 - 3pm
  • Thursday, March 25 - Upper and Lower School, 6 - 8pm

Please note there is a half day of school for grades Pre-K - 6 on Wednesday, March 24th at 11:40am.

A Note from our Nurses

This is a reminder for you to schedule an appointment with your child's pediatrician for a physical for the 2010-11 school year. All students entering Pre-K, Kindergarten, 1st, 4th, 7th and 10th MUST have a new physical dated no later than 9/1/10. Students in grades 9 - 12 who are interested in playing sports must have an updated physical.

SAT Test Administration - March 13, 2010

South Shore Christian Academy will administer the SAT I this Saturday for all registered students and will take standby students if seats are available. Students should be at school no later than 7:45 and should remember to bring the following items:#2 pencils, a calculator, snack, and the SAT admissions ticket. Students should also remember to not bring cell phones into the testing room or use a phone during any breaks. Students who bring a phone into the building will be asked to check it in at the Reception Desk. The test should be over by 1pm at the latest.

SSCA's Got Talent!

Our second annual Talent Show is coming up on March 26th. Applications are in the Main Office and the submission deadline is March 11th. This is a fundraiser to help defray the costs of the junior-senior prom. Last year was such a fun event showcasing the talent of both upper and lower school students. Reserve the date; you won't want to miss it!

Enrolling now for Summertime Kids 2010!!

Once again Pam Todd is offering her Summertime Kids Program for children in Preschool to Grade Six. This year the theme will beiVaya a Mexico! Deadline for registration is April 30th. Please note that the first week of the program has been canceled due to a change of plans for Mrs. Todd.

SSCA School Play - Monty Python meets Mel Brooks - "The Somewhat True Tale of Robin Hood" By Mary Lynn Dobson

"Have you ever wondered what would happen if Monty Python met up with Mel Brooks to tell their version of Robin Hood? Well...um...poor Sherwood Forest would never be the same again."     -Flint Youth Theatre, Flint, Mich.

Performances will be held at SSCA on Thursday, March 18 and Friday, March 19 at 7:00pm

Adults: $5
Students and Senior Citizens:$3
Family Discount: $15

SPORTS NEWS

SSCA VARSITY BASKETBALL

The Boys Varsity basketball team won 2nd place in the Massachusetts Christian School league playoffs. They lost to Covenant Christian 58 -49.

The Girls Varsity basketball team is playing for the championship tonight at New England Christian Academy in Swansea. They defeated Barrington Christian 62 -42 yesterday. Becky Marotta and Katie Warren both had 18 points.

Pre-planned Absences

This is a reminder that Upper School students taking a pre-planned absence from school need to fill out the appropriate paperwork and have it signed by their parents and Mrs. Warner before the dates of the absence. Forms are available in the Main Office.
