Headmaster's Corner
Recently I received this truly inspiring affirmation of our
school from a Parent who is a BTF (Big Time Fan) and thought that you would
enjoy reading it as much as I did:
Several times in the last five years we have been undecided
about whether or not to move from
However, at one point Aiden stopped in the driveway,
basketball in hand, and said "If we buy this house does it mean that I
won't be going to my school anymore?"
Since we were planning on sending both kids to public school
if we made the move, I responded: "Yes".
With tears in his eyes he said: "Then I don't want
it! I want to stay at SSCA!"
His fervent and absolute conviction was the deal
breaker...We haven't considered a move since then!
We are blessed by SSCA and the community it creates for all
of us. Even our handicapped daughter is lovingly and warmly accepted as part of
the SSCA family and we are thrilled with the academic level that he has
achieved there.
However, the most notable benefit that is offered at SSCA is
the character building that our children are receiving. The love and respect
for God is evident in all the activities and carries over into the social
interactions.
Our son recently broke his leg while skiing. The Ski patrol
was setting it and told him he could use whatever "bad words" that he
wanted to if it hurt.
Aiden responded by saying: "That's ok, I will pray
instead."
Could you ever ask for more?

The main office is working on a school directory which
includes the
your name, address, home phone number, and family email
address.
If you wish to leave any of this information unpublished, or if you have any questions, please contact the main office.
SSCA Students display their knowledge of animal cells by
building cell models for Mrs. Stiles Biology class.

Candid Camera in the Computer Lab

SSCA's new technology program is highly successful. Fourth graders learn how to make graphs and
build models and incorporate them into their reports.
Important Reminder
Lunch Order Forms
I need to ask all parents to fill out a separate lunch form
for each child in their family. I
realize this takes them an extra few minutes but it will cut many minutes out
of the entering of orders. I am having
parents put 3 kids on one form and I enter orders by grade.
Greetings from the Lunch Room
Please do not bring in lunch items that need to be
microwaved. We do not have enough
supporting staff to assist with this task.
Also, the lunch menu for October will be going home with the
students on September 11th and due back no later than September 18th. If you do not receive one, please pick up a
form in the main office.
Thank you!
Label your labels
Please label your child's SSCA sweatshirts and/or other
clothing garments.
They all look the same and we don't want them to get
lost. Thank you for your cooperation.
Absences Because of Illness
When a student is ill and cannot attend school, it is the
parent's responsibility to notify the school by
Parent Volunteers
Parents, we greatly appreciate having volunteers at school
during the school day. Here are a few
reminders for you while at school:
Please sign in at the Main Office so you can get a visitor's
badge.
We ask that you dress appropriately for a school setting.
Remember to sign out and return your badge at the Main
Office.
Thank you, again, for volunteering your time at SSCA!
