To apply to South Shore Christian Academy, click on the Apply Online button, or select an option under Print Applications for a PDF version. In addition, you will need to complete all necessary recommendation and transcript forms and have them sent to SSCA. Admission acceptance is on a rolling application basis. However, priority is given to all applications received by January 1st.
In the application packet there is a Release of Records Form. Please fill this out and send to your child's current school. The records must include the following:
- standardized testing
- report cards (current and previous)
- discipline reports
- a teacher recommendation
Applicants to Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten are required to take a developmental screening test administered at SSCA. Applicants for grades 1-5 are required to take an entrance test administered by SSCA. Tests are administered following successful completion of the application.
Students applying for grades 6-11 are required to take a Secondary School Admissions Test (SSAT). You can contact SSAT to schedule a test, at 609-683-4440 (tel), 800-442-7728 (fax), or online at www.ssat.org.
A personal interview with the applicant and parent(s) is required. In addition, all applicants from 1st grade through 11th grade are required to attend a Shadow Day, spending a full day visiting classes.
After the application file is completed and processed, SSCA will notify all prospective students as to their admission status. Applications will continue to be reviewed throughout the year until openings are filled. All subsequent applicants who are offered admission will be placed on a wait-list. Students will be drawn off the waiting list as openings become available.
After notification of acceptance, the parent(s) of the student must sign and return the acceptance package within two weeks of notification. If the school does not receive this information by the deadline, the student's seat may be given to a student on the wait-list.
