What sports does SSCA offer?

SSCA has athletic opportunities for both the Lower School and Upper School.

Lower School students in grades 1 thru 5 may compete in intramural basketball skills development clinics in the Fall at SSCA.

In the Spring, students in grades 1 thru 5 may compete in intramural soccer skills development clinics.

Upper School students, grades 6 thru 12, may compete in the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) in:

  • Soccer-boys and girls
  • Basketball-boys and girls
  • Baseball-boys
  • Softball-girls
  • Intramural volleyball-boys and girls

SSCA has enjoyed an outstanding record of accomplishment in interscholastic play qualifying for post season MIAA Tournament play:

  • 10 years in Boys Soccer
  • 8 consecutive years in Girls Soccer
  • 9 consecutive years in Girls Basketball
  • 7 of the last 10 years in Boys Basketball

Does SSCA have an Arts Program?

SSCA offers a fine arts program for Lower School students that includes art, band, dance, chorus, and orchestra.

SSCA offers a fine arts program for Upper School students that includes Voice Ensemble, drama club, ballroom dancing as well as instumental lessons for grades 7 and 8.

Are entrance exams required for admission to SSCA?

The application process includes a pre-admission screening for the Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten.

For grades 1-5, students are required to take either the SSCA admissions test.

Grades 6-11 applicants must submit SSAT scores. In lieu of the aforementions test, ISEE or other standardized tests may be accepted on a case-by-case basis.

Is Financial Aid available?

SSCA utilizes the FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment program to process all tuition assistance applications. FACTS assists hundreds of independent schools, including SSCA in assessing the financial need of the families applying for tuition assistance.

Tuition assistance at SSCA is a need and merit scholarship based financial aid program. It is available to assist students that could not otherwise attend SSCA without financial help.  This assistance is available for parents or guardians of kindergarten through 12th grade students.  Upon completion of the application process, students are then eligible to apply for financial assistance.

What is not included in the tuition?

The following are not included in tuition: registration fee, re-registration fee, uniforms, class trips, transportation, extended day programs, athletic fees, school pictures, Interterm and lunch.  (This is list is not all-inclusive.)

Is a lunch program provided?

A school lunch program is available through a local vendor.  Order forms are available online on the SSCA homepage.  Drinks and snacks are also available for purchase.
